TATE Languages: Booking, Cancellation, and Subscription Policy

Why We Have These Rules (Our Operational Philosophy) As a highly specialized, digital-first solo academy, TATE Languages relies on precision and mutual respect to deliver exceptional instruction. Because we operate under the strict jurisdiction of the Basque Country's TicketBAI electronic invoicing mandate, every lesson booked and paid for must be meticulously recorded, cryptographically signed, and transmitted to the Gipuzkoa Treasury in real-time.

These policies exist not just to protect the teacher’s time and ensure the academy can sustainably continue operating, but to guarantee that our administrative and tax records are perfectly aligned with the law. By respecting these scheduling boundaries, we eliminate administrative friction and keep our focus exactly where it belongs: on your language progress.

1. Enrollment & Subscription Fees

  • No Registration Fees: We believe in charging for instruction, not administration. There are absolutely no registration or matriculation fees to join TATE Languages.

  • Billing Cycle: Lesson packages and subscriptions are billed monthly in advance via our secure Stripe integration.

  • Statutory Right of Withdrawal: In accordance with Spain's General Law for the Defence of Consumers and Users (LGDCU), new students have a 14-day statutory right of withdrawal from their initial purchase, provided the service (the lessons) has not already been fully executed during that timeframe.

2. The 24-Hour Cancellation & Rescheduling Rule

To respect the time of both the instructor and other students who may be waiting for a time slot, we operate a strict 24-hour scheduling framework:

  • Late Cancellations: Any scheduled lessons that are not cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice will be considered forfeited and will be deducted from your active balance.

  • Rescheduling: If you need to reschedule a class and you provide more than 24 hours' notice, you will have until the end of the current month to take this makeup class. It must be completed before the next billing cycle begins, as unused classes do not roll over into the following month.

3. Subscription Modifications & Cancellations

  • The 15th of the Month Deadline: If you wish to pause, downgrade, or completely cancel your recurring subscription, you must notify us in writing by the 15th of the current month.

  • This deadline is strictly enforced to allow us to open your reserved slots to waiting students and to prevent the automated Stripe billing system from charging you for the following month's subscription fee.

4. Punctuality & Technical Readiness

Because our sessions are highly structured 50-minute blocks, students are expected to enter the digital classroom on time with all resources needed for the class headphones, microphone, camera, notebook, and a pen or pencil. You can send simple message to your tutor in Zoom/WhatsApp with your expected time of arrival if you are running late. If a student is more than 20 minutes late without prior notice, the class will be considered a "no-show" and deducted from the student's balance.
